We are excited to announce that the lab will be moving to the University of Iowa Carver College of Medicine this summer. The lab will be located in the Department of Neuroscience and Pharmacology. Dr. Tomchik will have appointments in Neuroscience and Pharmacology, Pediatrics, and the Iowa Neuroscience Institute.
The lab recently visited Iowa City to tour the city and university. We made stops in some of the local fun spots, including Big Grove Brewery. Iowa City is a UNESCO City of Literature with a college town feel, a vibrant downtown, and a metro population of 172,000.
The University of Iowa is located on a 1,880 acre campus in the heart of Iowa City, and includes the University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics (an 811-bed public teaching hospital with level 1 trauma center), Stead Family Children's Hospital, Carver College of Medicine, Iowa Old Capitol Building, football and basketball arenas, undergraduate campus, Iowa Writer's Workshop, and (much) more. The campus is centered on the Iowa River, a tributary of the Mississippi River, which runs through Iowa city.
The lab will be located in Iowa Neuroscience Institute space within the Pappajohn Biomedical Discovery Building.
Our lab home, beginning summer 2022:
We will dearly miss our friends and colleagues in Florida, will enjoy our last few months here, and will keep in touch thereafter!
