The lab traveled to Chicago for the 64th annual Drosophila Research Conference, sponsored by the Genetics Society of America.
Several members of the lab made the trip, including Val, Genesis, and Seth. Val presented her latest research on the role of Nf1 in metabolic regulation in a platform presentation (in the Models of Human Disease I session). She is currently writing up her latest research for her doctoral dissertation and will be defending soon.
Genesis presented her research on the role of Nf1 in regulating the neuronal circuits underlying motor behaviors in a poster presentation. She is currently finishing up her experiments, analyzing data, and writing a manuscript. In the summer/fall, she will be heading to graduate school.
This research is supported by the National Institutes of Health, grants R01NS126361 and R01NS097237.
